Hi! My name is Shannon, and I grew up in rural Illinois and currently reside in Urbana, Illinois. I got my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and later pursued a Graduate Certificate in Herbal Medicine from the American College of Healthcare Sciences. I have always felt drawn to plants, herbs, and anything natural. Through my studies, I discovered the amazing and powerful attributes of herbs. I decided I wanted to utilize my creativity and knowledge in both psychology and herbal medicine to start my own business and promote holistic health and mental well-being through the lens of herbalism.

I became more interested in holistic health a few years ago when my dad was diagnosed with cancer. I struggled with that reality, so I did extensive research on nutrition and natural medicine for promoting longevity. He has since tragically passed, but I am still determined to contribute towards the holistic health and vitality of others in some sort of way. 

My intention is to provide accurate information from trusted clinical sources. I value sustainability, integrity, innovation, creativity, mental health wellness, and holistic well-being, as these are core to Vines & Vitality. I am committed to providing safe, effective, and environmentally-friendly herbal products. I also wanted to add a unique spin on my products so I decided to have a special character for each deodorant scent and tea blend. My partner Roman, who is an incredible artist, helped with drawing all those cute characters you see.
